Some keys for successfully applying:
All interested applicants should carefully review the vacancy announcement. Applicants must submit an application online using the “Apply” button/icon in the announcement. The online application process will require applicants to build a resume in the USAJOBS website. Full instructions are provided in the “How to Apply” section of the vacancy announcement and additional details on NASA’s specific vacancy announcement process are provided in the “Applicant Guide” link provided within that section.
Applicants should carefully review their resume to ensure that it completely represents how their experience matches the skills and competencies applicable to the position they are applying for. In addition, Aerospace Engineer and Electronics Engineer AST positions require additional information related to education and/or certification that applicants should be sure to address. Some tips applicants should keep in mind in reviewing their resume:
• Be specific;
• Use action words;
• Use technical terms; and,
• If using an acronym, spell out any acronyms the first time it is used in the resume (where applicable describe the type of work/work processes that may be entailed/assumed by acronyms that cover functions/types of work).
While applicants may start and stop their application process, they must finish the entire process and a complete application must be received by no later than 11:59pm Eastern Standard Time/10:59pm Central Standard Time on the closing date of the announcement, in order to be considered. To ensure that applicants have enough time to build a USAJOBS resume and resolve any potential technical difficulties they may encounter, we strongly encourage interested applicants to begin and complete the application process as soon as possible.
Thank you!
